Projects Include:

Hospitals:

Hospitals have been major clients since the beginning of Rickert Engineering, Inc. Just prior to starting Rickert Engineering, Karl Rickert completed the design of Shock Trauma at the University of Maryland. Projects have included additions, alterations and infrastructure upgrades.

Residential:

Rickert Engineering, Inc. has been responsible for the design of hundreds of residential projects. These projects have ranged from a 12 million dollar estate to beams in existing basements to permit the installation of pool tables.

Schools:

Projects have included both private and public elementary and middle schools. The design of infrastructure upgrades and repairs have also been performed for several Maryland Colleges.

Churches:

Projects have included the design of additions to existing churches. Several projects have been related to the repair and restoration of existing timber roofs and historical structures.

Civil Works:

Civil projects have included the design of repairs and rock anchors for overturning safety at the Wilde Lake Dam. Projects have also included waste water structures at sewage treatment plants. Rickert Engineering, Inc. has also designed inlet structures and weir walls for storm water management ponds and a box culvert.

Industrial:

Industrial projects have included the design of warehouse facilities, equipment installations and structural repairs.

Restoration:

Restoration and repair of existing structures has been an area of specialization for Rickert Engineering, Inc. Projects have included the design of concrete repairs such as those performed at the terraces around the United Supreme Court Building. Historical Restorations performed with Jerome Lamprecht, P.E. have included the Friends Meeting House and the Christ Church in St. Michaels, Maryland. Timber repairs have included the design of reinforcement of timber columns at Fleischmann's Vinegar.

Renovation:

Rickert Engineering's attention to detail has helped architects design the renovation of all types of buildings. Renovations have ranged from the reconstruction of Baltimore row houses to the conversion of the Hackerman House at the Walters Art Museum.

Failure Investigations and Expert Testimony

Failure investigations have been performed for insurance companies, building owners and lawyers. These services have included expert testimony in depositions, county hearings and court rooms.
