Hospital Projects Include:

Holy Cross Operating Room Additions and Alterations, Silver Spring, Maryland:
Holy Cross Operating Room Additions and Alterations, Silver Spring, Maryland: This project included a two story 15,000 square foot addition and 42,000 square feet of renovations to the existing hospital. The project included 16 new operating rooms with recover rooms. Renovations included Central Sterile Supply, offices and conference, receiving and storage. Interior renovations include new elevators installed through the existing concrete floors.
Due to height limitations and the need to maintain the existing loading docks under the addition, several structural systems were used for the framing. These included one way concrete joists and flat plate concrete slabs for the floor. A steel framed roof was used to accommodate the required clear spans. A new penthouse was added on the existing low roof. A duct shaft was added to the exterior of the 5 story building for fresh air to the penthouse. Other Holy Cross projects have included the Renovations and Additions to the Main Entrance, a Cardiac Catheterization Addition and several infrastructure upgrades.
Washington Hospital Center A-Wing Infrastructure Upgrade, Washington, D.C.:
This $4,000,000 project included the installation of two 2,000 square foot units above the roof of the existing Sixth floor. The project also included the design of two similar units in the basement. Upgrades included framing for platforms and ducts in the shafts. The concrete shafts were modified as required to accept the new ducts and floor connections. New roof framing was designed for installation around the existing units so that the existing sixth floor could be expanded over the fifth floor roof in the future. Other Washington Hospital Center projects have included the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories Renovations, Ambulance Ramp Reinforcement, an Animal Housing Addition and Resident Quarters Renovations.
Church Hospital Central Building Infrastructure Upgrade, Baltimore, Maryland:
The project included the installation of a new chiller in the basement and a new cooling towers and enclosure on the roof. M&E: Henry Adams, Inc.
Other Church Hospital projects have included the inspection and preparation of documents for repairs to the parking garage, Northwest Building, Central Building and Barton Building. Renovations have included the Emergency Room, Pharmacy, patient rooms, Operating Rooms and Physical Therapy. Infrastructure upgrades have included supports for a new fifth floor unit, and new CT Scan, a stack, an incinerator and a new boiler.
Greater Baltimore Medical Center Infrastructure Upgrade, Baltimore, Maryland:
This project included a two story addition to the existing boiler plant and offices. The project also included the installation of three new chillers and two cooling towers. A new cooling tower enclosure that was faced with architectural precast concrete was constructed over the existing building. Existing caisson foundations were expanded to support the addition.
